BLM Resource Advisory Councils to Meet Feb. 8-10 in Redding

Jan. 30, 2012 - The U. S. Bureau of Land Management's (BLM) resource advisory councils for northeast and northwest California will meet individually and in join session Wednesday through Friday, Feb. 8-10, at the Oxford Suites Conference Center on Hilltop Drive in Redding.

The meetings and a field tour are open to the public.

Members of the Northeast California RAC will convene from 1 to 5 p.m. on Feb. 8. Time for public comments has been reserved at 4 p.m. Agenda items include recommendations on wild horse and burro management, updates on wind energy proposals, and a report on aquatic condition assessments.

On Feb. 9, members of both councils convene at the Oxford Suites at 8 a.m. for a field tour to Clear Creek, where partnerships and restoration projects will be discussed. Members of the public are welcome. They must provide their own transportation and lunch.

The joint RAC session will underway at 1 p.m. Council members will review their roles and responsibilities and discuss organization of the RACs in the BLM Northern California District. Public comments will be accepted at 4 p.m.
