At a recent meeting of the South West Oregon Mining Association, former Josephine County Commissioner Sandi Cassanelli announced that after some soul searching, she is throwing her hat back into the political ring and has announced her candidacy for the position of Josephine County Clerk, running against long time encumbant, Art Harvey. Cassanelli has long been a friend to the miners of Josephine County.

Local miner, Chris Ferguson, also announced his candidacy for Josephine County Commissioner position #2.
